The True Meaning of Marriage
The World According To Kiki & J-Fed
The wedding was lavish and beautiful. The honeymoon was spent on a small island in Fiji. Less than a year later, she became pregnant with their son, beginning the next chapter in their lives. When she went away for a weekend, he wanted her to be more comfortable. He shopped high and low to find the perfect bed. It was the princess and the pea come to life. It wasn't that she demanded or even expected any of this. He did it because he wanted to do, beacuse he loved her and wanted to show her that.
And she was the very same. She doted on my brother as if he were her prince. And he couldn't have asked for a more perfect princess. Beautiful on the inside and out, she's one of the most incredible people I've ever met, the type of person who can turn even the most negative into the most positive.
Everything in their lives was the stuff that storybook love is made of. Their son was born in October and although he became the focal point of their lives, they still never lost sight of each other.
This weekend, they wanted to celebrate their second anniversary in a special way. They traveled down to the Keys for a romantic getaway that wouldn't be complete without their five month old son. It was an amazing weekend filled with sunsets, sunrises and every other thing that made life worth living.
On their way back home, a car cut in front of them and they hit a tree head on at 45 miles per hour. Although my brother and my nephew were unscathed, my sister in law was seriously injured. In an instant, my brother watched his world crumble as he nearly lost his leading lady in life. It was devastating not just to him, but to everyone who's watched their story play out.
She's going to be okay. But it shows how everything you value and care about in life can be gone in an instant. My prayers are with both of them. If anybody deserves a happy ending, it's them.
