Quiet Falls On The Home Front
Blue Jeans Guy and the Pres
So, things have been eerily quiet between the Pres and I for a while. It feels like the quiet before a major hurricane, but so far nothing major. There was a small blip on the radar when the Pres felt the need to send me an email to tell me about how I was doing something in a way she felt was “inefficient”.
The email had that tone that made me feel she was giving an executive order, but I was quick to let her know that I’m disinclined to give a crap about what she thinks, never mind follow her ridiculous orders.
The dispute ended quickly and now it’s back to Ms. Nice-Nice. I’m too smart to turn my back on her because I know the Pres has a temper like a 400-pound gorilla. So I guess time will ultimately tell if this is my future, or if more ugly control disputes are looming.
I’d also like to acknowledge the observations of Justice and Truth in her blog. I agree with the ideas expressed in her response to my Guy Logic 101 blog. Perhaps a catch-all tip 9 would be: If you realize that the person you are with is mentally defective, irresponsible, stupid, and / or selfish, and shows no signs of changing even though you do your best to work it out, then it is perfectly reasonable to put into practice a policy of self-preservation. If this means showing the jerk the door and/ or divorcing him/ her, then so be it.
On the upside of things, my relationship with my new girl friend has continued to blossom in. I think I’ll call her my “PIC” (partner in crime). After all, I can’t call her The New Gal forever, and we always seem to have the same mischievous ideas around the same time. Like me, she is successful professionally, smart, and likes to paint the town red from time to time. Actually, she has many of the same good qualities the Pres has, but lacks the annoying control nut gene. She also has a sense of humor that works with mine, a spirit of cooperation, a libido, and a funny ability to make my heart melt. The only downside is it’s hard to stay bitter about the Pres when things are going so well on the new home front. I guess that’s a downside I can deal with. Anyway, that’s the end of this little stream of consciousness. Until next time…
