Common Sense Anyone?

I volunteered to be the room Mom for my daughter's Kindergarten class back in August.  Essentially this means that I am responsible for planning and pulling off the Holiday Party for 16 little ones.  I have help - share the duty with a pregnant mom who is due in three weeks.  

Well, last night the kids belonged to my ex and so I had stuff that I needed to get to the school - so I dropped by daycare this morning to put it in my daughter's backpack.  While I was there I stopped by my son's class to give him a hug.
 
When I walked in his class I noticed he was holding his head.  His teacher immediately approached me with a story about him having a fall at Dad's house and having a nasty knot on the back of his head.  He was near tears and still in pain - he had been there for 2 hours and the pain hadn't subsided.
 
I checked my son over - made the teacher promise to call me if their was a change so that I could take him to the hospital.
 
Then....I got in my SUV and called Mr. LO
 
Enjoli - Hey, just stopped by the daycare and was filled in on our son's fall.  What happened?
 
Mr. LO - well I was getting him dressed, he was standing on the bed, I turned around and he fell off and bumped his head.
 
Enjoli - It looked pretty bad - I'm thinking he might need to go to the hospital.
 
Mr. LO - No worries I gave him a motrin and an ice pack he will be FINE!!!
 
Enjoli - What kind of Motrin (imagine a panicked voice) - kids or for adults.
 
Mr. LO - For adults - I didn't have anything for kids.
 
Enjoli - You can't give 3 year olds medicine intended for ADULTS.....
 
Mr LO - It is no biggie - I just gave him one.  Gotta go...click
 
What an ass.  About 2 years ago Mr. LO didn't make sure to lock up his prescription medication and My son got into it.  He ended up at the hospital with an  IV and a tox scan.  The ex and I were told that if he ever ended back in the ER after "accidently" consuming adult medication that Child Protective Services would be called to investigate.
 
Mr. LO is an ass - doesn't seem to remember that it was his fault 2 years ago that our child was drugged up and almost had to have his stomach pumped.
 
Is it just me - or is this man totally insane?
