Father of The Year? Not Even Close
The Rantings Of A Soccer Mom
He's struck again! Tweedle Dumb and his sidekick Tweedle Dumber have decided to take the children to the circus in the middle of the week, at 7:30 pm. Now you may be thinking, "what's the big deal?". The big deal is I have to drive our daughter over an hour to drop her off at Tweedle Dumber's house, and our daughter has to miss school on Thursday. That wouldn't be the end of the world either except that the dynamic duo also planned a trip to the beach next weekend and our daughter has to miss another day of school and I have to drive her down again.
Did I mention that the price of gas is through the roof? Last time I looked it was $3.09 and rising. I asked his royal highness to share the cost of gas with me and he said "no". Big surprise! Once a tightwad always a tightwad.
Now our daughter has been having some big time mouth issues. It's been like attitudeapalooza in my house. I'm ready to move out and leave the dog in charge. Last night she hit me, and that wasn't the first time it's happened. I asked her to clean off her plate and she mouthed off to me. I corrected her and she smacked my arm. I was shocked. I called Tweedle Dumb in tears and he was no help or support as usual.
He was more concerned about Tweedle Dumber's dog. He gets my vote for "Father of the Year". Then C calls for his evening check in before work. He loves my daughter and was so disappointed with her behavior. He talked to her and told her that it was inappropriate to be disrespectful. It wasn't what he said that got to me, it was the fact that he cared enough to do it and that he was supportive of me. I am definately not used to that.
I wish I would have met him years ago, but I probably wouldn't have appreciated him then. It's funny how your heart changes when you've been hurt like this. Tweedle Dumb told me I would be surprised at all the good that would come out of our divorce. I didn't believe him at first, but by golly he was right. I won't tell him that yet. I'll wait for him to get the property settlement agreement first. We'll see what he thinks about alimony, paying for my legal expenses, half of his settlement from the assault, and whatever else my attorney pulled out of his bag of tricks.
