J-Fed Dons His Cape

Look, up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane. It’s Super-Fed!

I thought the new and improved J-Fed would be long gone by now, but it just goes to show that assuming makes an ass out of, well, me. You see, a week ago J-Fed declared his new mission in life was to make it so that I could find absolutely nothing to bitch about. Initially, I thought he would abandon his plan. But ‘tis not the case. And it couldn’t have come at a better time as we've all seem to come down with the equivalent of the modern-day plague.

You see, the baby has contracted RSV, a nasty respiratory virus. In the beginning, it seemed like nothing more than a cold. However, it soon became apparent that it was something far more serious. By Thursday we were in the emergency room. Now, in this strange turn of events, J-Fed zoomed his car to greet me at the hospital. J-Fed detests hospitals. He pretty much needs to be sedated just to walk into one. But there he was supportive and helpful, the doting dad. I was impressed.

It didn’t stop there. Saturday morning he took the dogs to the vet. Then he came back and took 5-year-old daughter… all day and all night. He took her to the mall. He took her swimming. In the evening he called me over to his apartment where he presented me with a gorgeous necklace that I had been dying over. It was my mother’s day gift from the girls. I couldn’t believe it. I had to pinch myself and slap him to make sure it was all real.

I was certain things would go awry on Sunday, but to my surprise he showed up with breakfast and a kiss. I mean, was it possible that a leopard could really change its spots? It was beginning to appear so. When J-Fed was on, he was well “spot” on. To ensure I had the most relaxing Mother’s Day possible, he then took 5-year-old daughter to his mom so that I could recover from soothing sick baby… and my own virus symptoms as well.
