Joy To The World

Justice & Truth Reigns

The following lyrics are to be sung to the melody of the song, “Joy to the World:”

Joy to the world! The holidays are here!

Justice... may actually... crack up!

Her son’s 13th birthday’s on the 6th,

His party is on the 8th,

Followed by Hanukkah, Christmas and,

Her husband’s Birthday on the 27th,

Oh, but wait, there’s more!

Overtime’s in abundance now,

Finals are on the 15th...

Repeat, repeat the sounding... JOY!

Aside from the usual holiday craziness, I have the added joy of dealing with my ex a lot during this time of year. As a matter of fact, he’s been calling me CONSTANTLY. For the past couple of years, our son ended up with several duplicate gifts for his birthday and Christmas because the ex refused to share with me what he was buying.

So last year, the ex ate the expense of a video game because he couldn’t return it. So this year, apparently, that means he needs to call me every time he buys a peanut.

Second call of the day:

Ex: Hey, I bought son a book about robots.

Me: Great. As we discussed before, just send an e-mail when you buy something and I’ll do the same. There is no need for these constant phone calls.

Ex: Right.

Naturally, the phone rang again, and I let it go to voice mail. While I’m all for cooperation and good coparenting, there really is no need to be in constant contact. Sorry, but that’s one of the benefits of being divorced; you DON’T have to be in touch constantly!

I’ll be back with more holiday joy soon…
