Liar, Liar Pants On Fire

Men lie...okay people lie.  I know it just isn't men that lie in the world, but in my life it seems like it is always the men who lie.  I think I'm starting to filter everything that men say to me and believe... ummm maybe 10%.  The 10% that is usually true usually has to do with sex or something that benefits them and only them! 
 
Mr. LO (my ex) was a liar -- still is.  This week he told me that he wanted me to take the kids for Thanksgiving because he was worried he couldn't provide the right kind of holiday atmosphere for them.  The truth - - simple - he doesn't want to cook AND he has the day off of work and wants to lay around like a lazy pig. 

He always did that when we were married.  There were years when we were hosting his family and lots of them and he wouldn't lift a finger to help.  So, I told Mr. LO that he could provide the proper Thanksgiving atmosphere by ordering from Boston Market.
 
Well folks, I'm taking this Thanksgiving off and I'm going to enjoy every second of it.  I'm spending it with my best friend and her family.  She lives 1500 miles away and is flying here since her inlaws live close by.  It will be nice to watch her interact with her husband who adores her which gives me hope that I will someday find that kind of a person.
 
Back to lying -- I had a date scheduled for Friday.  It was going to be a first date with a guy that I've nicknamed Slow Talker.  Slow Talker is intelligent I suppose just very very slow in getting out what he wants to say.  Well, I was excited about the date -- we were going to hit a concert.  I love live music.  I wasn't so much excited about the company (Slow Talker) as I was about getting out.
 
Well today I got 3 text messages and 2 voicemails... from his WIFE.  Yes, his wife.  All I can say is THANK GOD I didn't actually go on a date with him.  We've chatted via email and talked on the phone. So I don't think I can officially be an adultress for that.  Either way she and I are going to have a nice chat this evening and I guess I'm free for Friday.
