Minutemen

It is so funny this topic has come up with numerous friends over the last week or two.  Minutemen are the men who only go a minute or so during the "act" and yes, I'm talking about sex.

This particular topic is not only important in the realm of "Should I Divorce him," but also the "Should I Marry him" realm.

Now Mr. LO was alot of things, but I wouldn't say that he was a minuteman.  When he set his mind to it he was basically average (in my experience).  He was really more of a beat his Energizer Bunny drum in the other room kinda guy if you know what I mean.

Now, it didn't start out that way.  The thing about sex for those of you considering marriage (or divorce) is that it doesn't get "better" over time.  It might stay the same -- but it doesn't get better from the perspective of the amount of time a particular person goes, at least in my experience.  Also, if your lover/husband lacks an imagination be prepared for some boredom around year five.  In my experience married sex got worse, then just bad, then nonexistent.

Once it reached bad I was already so pissed with Mr. LO's general attitude towards life that I pretty much died as far as the sex drive was concerned.  This is significant because since the age of 16 I would normally think about it SEVERAL times a day...if not all day.

It got so bad that last winter I went to the OB/GYN to see if I was in Menopause. I was 35. She said that I needed a divorce and that it would come back... she was right.  I really missed my sex drive, since in a way it defines me as a person because it was always so high for a woman.

Anyway, back to topic.

I almost married a minuteman back in 1995.  We dated off and on over five years.  He was actually less than a minuteman.  I could lick my lips across the room and he would hit his mark... EVERY DAMN TIME.  This was when I perfected the ability to reach the big "O" by thinking about it.  Nice skill... especially in boring meetings.  Anyway, what I should have done was leave him and move on.
