My Pissed Off Playlist

The Ex Files

When I first separated from my EX, I was devastated. Seriously, I didn't know how I was going to survive. And then slowly but surely, I got royally pissed off, because I finally realized what a colossal, immature moron he was. I won't go into detail here, just read some of my previous blogs. So when I had that epiphany, I was surfing through iTunes and decided to create a playlist that captured my "Fuck you, buddy!" feelings. I didn't want any sad, sappy songs. I wanted music to apply war paint with. Songs to throw rocks by. For months I played these songs and they never failed to support me and make me feel invincible. For awhile they were the best friends a girl could ever have. I hope they prove an inspiration to you, too...

Think/Respect by Aretha Franklin - In these two R&B classics, Aretha proves that nobody can bust balls like she can.

Dead Skunk by Loudon Wainwright - "Dead Skunk in the middle of the road stinking to high heaven" What better way to describe your EX?

Hole In My Head by Dixie Chicks - After you listen to this rockabilly number you'll be pulling on your cowboy boots and ready to kick some serious ass.

I Hate Everything About You by Three Days Grace - The title pretty much says it all. You'll love the garage band grunge sound of it. Great to sit in your car with the windows rolled up and yell "I hate everything about you!!!" at the top of your lungs. A wonderful way to vent. And cheaper than therapy. Just make sure the kids aren't in the car with you.

Heal Over by KT Tunstall - After you're done yelling, KT's tune will soothe your sorrow and get you through another day.

It Ain't Me Babe by David Melillo - A great take on Dylan's song. And a lovely way to tell someone to take a hike, already.
