Seasons of Change
The Rantings Of A Soccer Mom
December 31, 2006, New Year's Eve. The beginning of a fresh start, right? Not this year. New Year's Eve will forever leave a bad taste in my mouth. My husband decided to announce his lack of love for me and his desire to no longer be married to me that evening, before he went out to ring in the new year. Isn't that lovely! I thought I was going to lose my mind. Happy f-ing New Year! From that night on my life as i knew it was over.
Of course I didn't know there was anyone else then. He assured me that he would never cheat on me. LIAR! Everything came to light 28 days later. I recieved a phone call at 1:15 am by a police officer telling me that my husband was in the ER. He said my husband had been beaten up "pretty good" and that he requested my presence. I went to the hospital to find my sweet husband lying in a hospital covered in his blood, crying. I asked him what happened and he told me he got caught at M's house.
M is the wife of my daughter's soccer coach and the mother of her good friend. He then asked me if M was ok, and he told me he was worried about her. I asked him what he was diong at her house and he told me they were "just friends" and they were "talking". LIAR! Being the loving supportive wife that I am, I called M for him. M began to apologize to me for sleeping with my husband. She told me they never meant for this to happen, it just did. I just handed him the phone so I didn't throw up.
As I hand him the phone, M's husband called me on my cellphone to explain the events of the evening. I felt like I was walking through a cloud of fog. Several hours and many stitches later, I drove his sorry butt home and took care of him. I must have been suffering from a bout of temporary insanity. To make a long story short, that was the last night he spent in my bed, and soon after he was spending the night at her house with her. My heart was broken. All I did was cry and cry. February 10th my daughter and I moved in with my parents and life has been interesting ever since.
