SLOW: Pregnant Woman Living
Miss Ogamy and the Men
I’m trying to slow down, but I think the rest of the world hasn’t gotten the memo.
Sometime early last Sunday morning, someone put a slab of concrete through the back window of my car, shattering the window completely and destroying my son’s car seat.
Monday, my birthday, while I was getting the back window on my car fixed, someone broke into my apartment and stole my gas and food money for the week. Late that night I had to visit the hospital for spotting and cramping, which is never a good sign during a pregnancy. The doctor attributed it to stress and told me that I needed to slow down and reduce my stress. Thanks Doc. Any idea how?
Tuesday I decided to break the news to my mother about the pregnancy. After all, she would be here in two weeks and it was better that she not figure it out as she was stepping off the plane, right? That was less than pleasant.
Wednesday my phone randomly stopped working. I didn’t get it wet. I didn’t drop it. One minute I’m hanging up the phone and putting it into my purse. The next, I go to grab it and it won’t turn on. Beautiful.
Thursday I take it to the cell phone store to have it repaired. They tell me it has water damage and is therefore not covered under my cell phone insurance. That phone has never seen water in the brief 45 days I’ve owned it. 15 days ago it would have been covered under their warranty, but that was 15 days ago.
Friday I take it to another cell phone repair shop. They assure me that I just got a dud phone and they will fix it. Later that day they call me back. My phone has been flagged within their system as having water damage. They can’t find any evidence of water damage, but they still can’t fix the phone because it has been flagged. Does this make any sense to you?
