Someone Always Has It Worse

Justice & Truth Reigns

After reading some of the blogs and postings on the Bitchin’ Boards, I realize that someone always has it far worse than I. My dog farts a lot, but Kiki’s dog craps all over the house. My ex spent money like Paris Hilton, but one of the ex husbands discussed on the Bitchin’ Boards had no job and spent 10k on Star Wars toys.

My husband watches a lot of baseball; however, some husbands like to beat their wives, take drugs, stay unemployed, have affairs, call their wives vile names, and generally act psychotically.

I used to think my ex was one of the top ten worst husbands in America. I still think he sucked as a husband, but as I get older and hear crazier stories, I realize he was bad, but some of these guys are completely insane. So here’s my comparison list...

My story: My ex husband regularly came home between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. five to seven nights per week.

A more awful story: An ex husband left home for a week without contacting his wife. When he finally came home, he told his wife his “girlfriend” was pregnant…with twins.

My story: My ex husband was self-employed and refused to pay income taxes. I got my entire check withheld every week to pay his taxes, but it still wasn’t enough. After a couple of years, we owed tens of thousands of dollars to the IRS and had to sell our house.

A more awful story: An ex husband ran up massive debt with his cocaine habit, had an affair, filed for divorce, and left his ex wife and two kids living in a homeless shelter.

My story: My ex husband refused to pick up prescription medication for me one night when I was really sick. The pharmacy was right on his way home from work. Instead, he said he had made plans to have dinner with his friend (for the umpteenth night in a row that week). These plans could have easily been shifted an hour, but no. Dinner with J RIGHT THEN was more important.

A more awful story: After one ex husband’s wife put him through law school, he decided it was time to divorce her. Conveniently, this was right after she’d been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

While each of us may have to deal with evil, cruel, or crazy ex husbands, try to remember that someone out there always has it worse.
