Something Is Seriously Wrong
Miss Ogamy and the Men
It seems to me that there is a real problem with the Child Protective Services department in my area of Texas.
In September I received a call from Child Protective Services informing me that my son had been abused. It came as a surprise because I had just seen him five days before the call and he had seemed fine to me. They couldn’t inform me of the details but asked to set up a meeting with me.
My ex-husband, Perfect, used this as an opportunity to hide my son from me for two months claiming that I had been the one who had abused him. It took a full month before a social worker would meet with me. In the meeting she disclosed my son’s medical records. He had bruising on his back and buttocks. No photos were taken, but the doctors at the emergency room described them as “severe” and approximately 10 days old.
According to when the doctors saw Bubba, that meant that the bruises had occurred while he was in Perfect’s custody. This all struck me as rather odd because I had custody of Bubba in the time in between when the bruises allegedly occurred and when they were reported. I bathed him twice and changed his clothes multiple times and never saw any bruises. I can’t explain why I didn’t see them.
It took another month after meeting with me before they had a similar meeting with Perfect. During this time I was still not allowed to see my son. After the meeting with Perfect, the social worker determined that she could not say who had caused the bruises. It was clearly done by some adult, but it could have been Perfect, his girlfriend or someone at school. It was inconclusive, but she told me she knew I hadn’t done it. Her word convinced Perfect to allow me to start seeing Bubba again.
