That Was Fast

Mrs. Hyde Speaks Up

Not even four days after my exit, Mr. Hyde is on the prowl.  I was shocked to find his personals ad online while taking a break from job hunting.  There was his handsome, smiling face trying to snag another woman.  Did he run to the computer and post his ad as the UHaul pulled out of the driveway?

Dr. Jekyll is a handsome guy; he’s sweet, romantic, and thoughtful.  I had an instant attraction to him when we met.  I’m sure it would be the same for another woman.

But Mr. Hyde is needy. He needs to have someone taking care of him.  When he didn’t feel his needs were being met by his first wife, he had affairs.  I know of at least five women before me.  He also went right from his first marriage to me.  He hasn’t been ‘woman-free’ in more than 20 years.  My leaving must have put him in a real panic.

The pictures he used on his profile were familiar since I had taken them.  One was of him goofing off at a yard sale, and another one from a romantic getaway weekend together.  Nice of him to use the pictures I took to pick up other women.

Dating is the furthest thing from my mind right now.  I’m without a man and glad for the break.  I have no intention of dating. Heck, I haven’t even filed divorce papers yet so it hardly seems appropriate.

I’m using my time alone to get myself together and become the strong, independent and capable woman I used to be.  I’m focusing on my kids and myself, trying to get my life straight and I have no intention to start a new relationship until I’m more secure with myself.  Take a chance on a new man with his different issues and quirks?  Hell no!  No thank you. I have enough crap to deal with just getting back on my own feet.
