The Words Get In The Way

The World According To Kiki & J-Fed

J-Fed’s been trying, bless his heart. But sometimes I just wish he would think before he speaks.

First let me give the statistics…

Kiki’s Day
6:00 Wake up and feed the baby
7:00 Get the baby ready for daycare
7:30 Drive across town and take the baby to daycare
8:00-1:30 Work
1:30 Drive to 5-year-old-daughter’s school and wait
2:00 Bring 5-year-old daughter home
2:00-5:30 Take care of 5-year-old daughter while working
5:30 Go pick up baby from daycare
6:00-7:30 feed daughter, feed dogs, bathe both daughters, feed baby, put baby to sleep, take care of 5-year-old daughter
7:30-9:00 Work and take care of 5-year-old daughter
9:00 Jump for joy at the prospect of not hearing any crying or any whining until 1:30 a.m. feeding

J-Fed’s Day
7:00 Take 5-year-old to school
8:00-1:00 Go to work
1:00-7:00 Go to the go-cart track
7:00 Go home, eat, shower and go out
7:15 p.m.-7:15 a.m. Hang out, watch tv, sleep and sleep some more

Now, fair is fair. I have the kids the majority of the time, but everyone needs a break. I guess I wouldn’t have been so bothered about the day’s events. However, when he opened his mouth, anger reared its ugly little head.

The call came during unhappy hour, the 5:30-7:30 period of the day which is definitely the most trying times. J-Fed was coming home early because his go-cart wasn’t functioning properly. For some reason the transmission on his “new” motor had crapped out. He was none too pleased to say the least. So in the spirit of things, he decided to call me to vent. I was fine listening to him go on and on about how frustrated he was… until he made “the comment.”
