Who Divorced Who?

The World According To Kiki & J-Fed

Once a J-Fed, always a J-Fed.

These days, I really have to look for things to complain about, even when it comes to J-Fed. It's not that he's on his best behavior or anything. Yeah, he's been decent. But I attribute the lack of bitching more to the fact that we have little to no interaction. He doesn't call me. I don't call him.

Finally, it's like a real divorce. That's not to say he doesn't throw me for a loop every now and then. Like Friday. This isn't the first Friday we've gone through this. And it surely won't be the last.

Every Friday J-Fed takes the kids. Every Friday I have to call him and see what time he's going to pick them up. It's usually about 4 p.m. and when I inquire as to what hour his royal highness will grace me with his presence, his response is always the same "I don't know." Translation: "even if I do know what time I'm going to get there Kiki, I don't have enough common courtesy to let you know."

There's always something "work" related that goes down on Friday at quitting time that somehow delays his impending arrival until 6 p.m. or 6:30 p.m., just late enough to interupt any potential plans should I have them. Apparently, it's still my duty to cowtow to J-Fed's wants and needs.

This Friday was no different, cept for the fact I had been battling the flu all week long and was ready for a much-needed break. Upon hearing his "I don't know what time I'm getting there. Work with me. I'm doing my best," bullshit routine, I snarked back to him, "I do work with you, every Friday."

That's when he started.

"You know, if I had know that you'd be so hateful once we got divorced, I would have stayed married to you," he snickered.

Hold the phone, Jack. Did my ears deceive me or did my ex-husband just tell me HE would have stayed married to ME? Oh no he didn't. I couldn't let that one slide.
