Why I'm voting for Obama

I realize this is a blog about divorce. But I think we've all found ourselves struggling with a lot last year. And the current economy isn't going to make it easier. And now that we're women on our own and a good percentage of us are supporting families, it's more important than ever that we get a President who's going to make it possible for us to live decently - and I believe Obama will do more for us.
Under the Obama tax plan, those making under $250,000 will be taxed less. Under McCain, the very wealthy will receive the tax breaks. And I'm sick and tired of the top 1% getting all the benefits.
That's why our economy imploded. Because the Middle Class didn't get paid what we should have, we've had to live off credit for too long. It's time the Middle Class got a decent salary and tax breaks.

And what about health care? My COBRA's about to expire from my last job. And I'm only full-time freelance at my current one. I've been there a year, and tried to get on full-time, but nothing's happening yet. Obama's health plan is better than McCain's. McCain's saying he'll give everyone $5000, but health care costs on average $12,000 a year, and McCain is going to TAX you for that $5,000.
And then there's Sarah Palin. I have serious problems with her inexperience. Sure she's cute and spunky. But she's not smart, she's not experienced and she's whipping up a lot of feelings of racism and fear. As a nation, we have to pull together now more than ever. Obama is not a terrorist or Muslim or anti-American. Both McCain and Palin have promoted those kinds of messages and it's whipping up the more unstable elements in our society. Can you ever remember a presidential political rally from the past, where people were yelling "Kill Him"? Well it's happened at McCain rallies.
